Christmas Tree

Adorning the Christmas Tree was fun. Wuan brought all the decorations from Kuala Lumpur to dress it up. We had a great time decking the tree with baubles, ribbons, pine cones, Santas, stockings, beads and a snowman. A lovely angel on the top completed the setting. This is the most beautiful Christmas Tree we have ever seen.

What lies underneath the tree is no less eye-catching. Presents from Rosalynn, Justin, Sabrina and Wuan captivatingly beckoned. This is my best Christmas yet. I am grateful to be blessed with friends like them. The Christmas spirit of giving is truly still alive. It is not the presents, but the thought of giving, especially the sharing of one’s time during this season, that makes it the most precious gift of all.

  1. A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Would like to share with you a message that I received from the author of the poem below:

A Message for the Festive Season (2003)

    May this festive season
    Find you healthy
    In body, mind, and spirit:
    Vigorous like a horse,
    Tranquil like water,
    Spirited like a dragon.

    Undergo a metamorphosis,
And be transformed into a new person.
Learn to appreciate the people around you,
Including those you love to hate.
Pause to absorb the beauty of your surroundings,

And find your perceptions keener than ever.
Let go and rid yourself of fixation,
And thus liberate yourself from yourself.
    Forget yourself, be vacuous,
    And act with total spontaneity.

    Fear death no more,
    And simply delight in living.
Feel at home in the world,
For you are no longer a stranger in it.

  2. Thank you for sharing that beautiful poem. Here’s wishing you a very Merry Christmas, too.

  5. The Christmas tree is beautiful! Merry Christmas to you! Oh by the way, I found this website through The Star newspaper. =)

  6. Hi Peter,

What a beautiful tree that was! And am really glad you had a good Christmas with loved ones. Those of us who can celebrate a festival in peace, in a home, with family have a lot more than many others in the world today. I’m sure you agree. Would have been nice to see a pix of all of you with the tree.

  7. Unfortunately, we did not have a photo taken with the tree. Yes, it really would have been nice and memorable. Christmas was great despite the circumstances. Happy New Year Carol.
