I must join you in congratulating Angelina too. I feel good when journalists/writers/reporters reach within their hearts to get their stories done.

I think Angelina has done a great job because she has a good subject and a very motivating person to interview.

Peter, if only more people like us will come forward and sacrifice our personal space a little, our conservative Malaysians will gain more awareness on issues like special needs children, bereaved parents, people with special needs like you etc etc. For me, it is a small price to pay for the sake of humanity.

But sadly, there are people who think we are vulgar and obsence in reminding them a person can get into situations like us. Some people freaked out and suggested that I stick to my 'own kind' (i.e. the bereaved parents like me). They do not want to be reminded that people can die, so can babies.

Oh dear, I must step down from the soap box. But can't help it 'cos I just read in a public forum a woman asking this question - Can you tell me what I musn't do during pregnancy so that my baby doesn't look weird when born? Weird!?!

Must go and pray the serenity prayer, God grant me the patience......

Lilian,
A little publicity goes a long way. I have Angelina to thank for helping me reestablish ties with friends whom I have lost contact with since leaving school. They emailed me after reading that article.

The media, when applied properly, can work wonders in bridging barriers. I pray that people in the media use this gift for the betterment of humanity and the world.
