I’m glad you’re OK, Peter. I got to know about the quake right after I posted my last comment. Please take care, and move out of the apartment if necessary. Send me an email from time to time so I know you’re alright. The NY office is buzzing with news of the quake. I just met an Indonesian colleague whose family is in Medan. Thank God, they are safe.

I too slept through it (the earthquake) though I had a rough night last night because my baby kept waking up (Don’t know if she felt it?!). I wonder if the tremor is only felt by those living in high rise, cos’ my colleague who lives in an apartment (11th floor) just came in to work and told me she felt her room ’swinging’ for a whole 2 mins. Did those living on landed houses felt it too?

Gosh… I only knew when I read the papers this morning. I slept through this one like a baby as I did the recent one last Boxing Day. I might add: despite living in a high rise on a hill, albiet in the Klang Valley

Comforting thought: this must mean I’m definitely dwelling on firm ground. Now perhaps I should ask my agent to tout this as a USP (unique selling point) ;P

On a more serious note, I pray, I pray, lessons of last Dec26 have been seared in our collective memories, and warnings have gone out early enough, efficiently and effectively enough to prevent/minimise loss of lives and property.
