Listless in Kuala Lumpur

The sun from inside the plane.

Lethargy has been the flavour of the day everyday since I arrived in Kuala Lumpur two weeks ago. This heat is murderous. The extreme humidity makes me very uncomfortable and sticky. My brain does not function well in such conditions. I shower more often here. Most of the sunlight hours are idled away surfing and listening to Yahoo Launchcast Radio. Generally, I am feeling miserable. Thankfully Wuan has just upgraded her computer together with a broadband connection. At the very least, there is some semblance of being at home in Penang to keep my mind away from the listlessness.

  1. Yes, it has been very, very hot these last few days. Hmmm.. next time, I go online, we can chat and while some of your time away, huh? Yes, it was nice meeting you last Sat. And Wuan too! 🙂

  2. Oh my God Peter, you are so right. Just got back from KL, the heat there is just unbearable. Felt uncomfortable and sticky too…ugh. Thank God I’m back home! Yay!

  3. well penang too had hot weather most of the time. the hot humid weather really made people lethargic, restless and lazy to move out from their house!

well it’s good that wuan has broadband, peter, which means you can surf all you want – get into cyberworld and no more boring! 🙂

  4. Yes, the heat is a killer. And I’ll bet the long hair doesn’t help either. That’s why I lobbed off mine. *sigh*

    Sashi,
If I am still alive by then… hahaha. Yeah, see you on Sunday.

    lucia,
I get a good breeze in Penang throughout the day. It is a good thing Streamyx was installed the moment we applied. No waiting. I was surprised. This speed here is good too. At least there is something for me to while my time away.

    james,
    That I will tolerate. Hahaha.

    dave,
Terima kasih. Call me when you are on the island. You still have my number, right?

  7. nolah. you belum bagi me. you said you’d sms me, but you nochet. so how to call ah?

  8. hey, few weeks ago it was rain all day.
On the BRIGHT (heheh! rubbing it in) side: 1) sweating out your impurities should improve your whatnot creatine levels, no ?? 2) frequent showers – more hygienic.
This time last year, I was in jumpers, wolfing down piping hot noodles and guzzling steaming soups.
Instead of torturing myself with wishful thinking, I just think about those poor sods out there, labouring in the sun, while I sit in relative cool and comfort at home or in airconditioned surroundings.
Things aren’t all that bad, really. Mind over matter. Cheers

  9. percolator,
I do not sweat anymore because of my injury. That is why a slight change in temperature from the usual will make me very uncomfortable.
