And then there was one who haughtily gave justification for using such toilets because she considered herself temporarily disabled. Why? Because menses was dribbling down her thighs.

Where did that girl drop down from, only God knows.. To have a post so distastefully done like that, should put her to shame.. It’s either she is doing it to generate more hits, or she really feels that way..Either way, it’s shameful to do something like that.. A darn freaking rude person, that has childish mentally to even think that way..And yes, freedom of speech, i agree, everyone has the right to be heard..But this does not concern the freedom of speech..rather it concerns the morales and the upbringing of a person..She should be taught a lesson..and one day she will be.. you guys think you are always right, disable people don’t want to look special. they just want to be normal like everyone else and not need to be stared at pushing their whel chair down the street. i was born with a disfigured spine and have been in a wheelchair all my life and well i never scolded people for using public toliets for the disable because after all it’s still a public toliet. it’s okay, since people are nice enough for me to be next in line for it.
but i guess this will give me a chance to bang on any disable public cubical that is occupied and scream, “ARE YOU A FUCKING BLOGGER? IF YOU ARE YOU BETTER SCRAM!”

On one hand, you have a young, impulsive girl who is just blogging her views on her blog. (Note that the said girl did not actuallly prevent a disabled person from using the toilet and the circumstances in that case was that a disabled person had actually scolded somebody who accidentally opened the toilet door which he himself did not lock.)
On the other hand, you have a man, who has gone through many difficulties in life. A man that I personally respect for facing such difficulties with grace and strength. But this man has caused this young girl to lose her endorsement deals, her livelihood…
For what?
We are all entitled to our opinions.
Turning the other cheek ,more often than not, is a lot more effective , and it sure as hell looks a lot more dignified.

Are you so victimised that you cannot see that what xiaxue says might not be that outrageous? I have never thought it a right that we have instantly available toilets in public places.
If non-disabled people don’t have that right, why should wheelchair bound people demand that?
Granted she has made a controversial point but the essence of her argument bears some thought.
I sometimes use the handicapped toilet in an emergency as well. If someone disabled was outside waiting, all they need to do is to knock and I will emerge ASAP and apologise to him/her. I have yet to have that experience.

Dear Peter, while it is certainly justifiable that Xiaxue’s views could be considered selfish in this instance, it is just as justifiable that you are stooping to a level far lower than any of her actions/words. By launching a personal attack against her, you have 1) lost much credibility in your pursuit for, I don’t know, compassion perhaps, and 2) affected her livelihood and probably life in general. If you were a homophobic and I was your colleague, would I write underhanded letters to the boss asking that you be fired because truly, your stand on homosexuality “affects me”? No I would not. I have read your blog a couple of times before this incident, and I, as a reader, am disappointed that you have chosen such a course of action. Perhaps you might want to start reflecting on your own actions and consider that just as the disabled are people who are to be respected as much as anyone else, so is Xiaxue.

Firstly, she is NOT a helpless ignorant little girl. She is what? 19-20 years old? She has MENSA certification or some shit like that, something which she likes to rub into her readers faces. That should have helped contribute somewhat to her maturity and capabilities of thinking before speaking, correct?
She had sponsorship deals with several brands, endorsed on her blog. When you are endorsing/ being sponsored by a brand you are selected to REPRESENT what the brand stands for and are rewarded for being a good representative. (Questionable at times, but that’s probably the basic gist of it, other than people’s differing definitions of good and bad.)
It was just a matter of whether her sponsors were willing to stick it out or drop her like yesterday’s leftovers after the recent incident. Well, sponsors DID drop her after receiving negative feedback and accusations from other parties about her being a canine of the female persuasion which should be euthanised.
P.S.
I truly didn’t know that writing a letter of complaint regarding the behaviour of others was seen as malicious.
Don’t equate your own mentalities to the actions of others.

MR PETER…NO one is stupid la…neither one of us can call or name other stupid la…Stupid=Fool? (IT IS A FOUL WORD) We God fearing ppl dont call people stupid as it is not right wor…the bible say so wor… It could be so hurting to see one human attack the other …just for a piece of writting… I read liao I shake/laugh my BIG HEAD till it nearly drop off…BUT YES I SURVIVE…hahaha……Who you think you are for that matter of fact???? You are on wheel too and I admire your determination in your work despite your own condition which alot of things we can learn from…….. Just doing a contribution to start a campaign given you the right to call someone stupid and gather the power of your group to attack people like that??? Or given you any rights to do things as such…
