If you watched RTM 1 earlier tonight, and listened to the evasive answers given by Mr. Rein Westra, CEO / Executive Director of Rapid KL, you'll realise that the 100 buses arriving in one month was just another case of talking the talk! They are not coming guys
Westra praised you guys from BEAT though, he even said he loved you!!!!
So you had better beat your drums harder and get the promise realised; but make sure that the 100 new buses are properly designed for wheelchair access, they need low floors, and a 'kneeling' capabilty to allow the kerbside of the buses to be low enough to enable access to wheelchair users and others who have walking difficulties via automatic almost horizontal ramps. Ramp are of no use if the floor is too high, and wheelchair lifts are impraticable.
Suely Westra has seen these buses in Holland, if not he can have a look at them in his next door country Germany.
