The Great Move

This is one of the most difficult decisions that I have to make yet. On one part, my heart is reluctant to let go. On the other, a whole new world beckons. It is a tug of war where I will lose even if I win. A decision has to be made nonetheless. The inevitable has to happen one day anyway. I have given this a lot of thought. That one day has arrived. I have decided. The wisdom that I learnt a long time ago tipped the uneasy balance. A wise man once said that if one holds on too tightly to the past, he may not be able to grab hold of the future. It is with great sadness I am setting the past free. At the same time, I am grabbing the future with great anticipation. This is truly a bittersweet moment. My heart aches. Yet it is filled with excitement. Good bye Penang. Hello Kuala Lumpur! The journey continues.

  3. Wherever you are, whatever you do… I wish you all the best. God bless always.

    Peter:
    Thank you.

  4. All the best to you Peter.. although I have long forsee this coming. This is somewhat sad for Penangites who are disabled by facilities that are inferior… that needs a voice for them. Anyway… all the best with great hope that you will one day return to us in Penang

    Peter:
You can see the future huh. Being based in KL does not mean that I will be keeping my hands off issues in Penang. Please do not make it as if I am leaving Penang for good. I will be going back every now and then.

  5. I enjoy reading your blogs and really admire your perseverance and determination on getting things done regardless of the obstacles. Always remember that once a Penangite, always a Penangite. All the best to you, Peter, and good luck in KUL !

    Peter:
Once a Penangite, always a Penangite. 😀 Thanks.

  6. Hi, Peter.Does that mean that you are leaving BEC 1, Zone J? We have been wondering about you and your whereabout. Gonna miss u. Do keep in touch. God Bless and Happy Easter.Susan (BEC2, Zone J, Taman Lip Sin).

    Peter:
Zone J will always be home. Have a blessed Easter.

  7. We all in Penang sure miss you, Peter.
Do come back every once in a while, ok! We go kai kai then.

    Peter:
Jio me go kai kai when you come to KL lar.

  8. All the best in whatever endevour you decide in, its always hard to leave a place that you have been a part of for so long yet exciting nonetheless to head to a new city (but then again you’re not that much a stranger to KL). All the best.

    Peter:
Both places are home. What I am seeking is a place that I can be most effective. Thanks.

  9. Looks like there’s gonna be another “ex penang boy” on the list! All the very best Pete.It had to happen eventually. Work elsewhere, retire in Penang when the time comes and after many years (hopefully!),take the final drive to Batu Gantong to make a lot of smoke and meet the Maker!

    Peter:
You make it sound so macabre.

  10. Peter’s meaning of kai kai in KL is limited to mid valley nia… he won’t pou tau in KLCC one… just like last time I invite him there…. hhahahha must be the crowd there… with the multi race situation there on weekends…. mini global village….

    Peter:
KLCC is too crowded for me. I feel claustrophobic every time I am there.
