Datuk Badruddin Amiruldin: Using A Wheelchair Is God’s Punishment

Yes, my friends, if you are using a wheelchair, know that it is God’s punishment. Persatuan Orang-Orang Cacat Anggota Malaysia (POCAM) President Dr. Tiun Ling Ta alerted me to this piece of news published in the New Straits Times.

An angry Badruddin shouted back at Karpal. “You are no better. Calling us (BN MPs) animals… you insult people. Now you are sitting in a wheel chair. God has punished you.”

NST Online -October 23, 2007: Karpal: Lawyer wrote part of judgment for civil suit

Perhaps it is also God’s punishment to the rakyat that we have such an insensitive and idiotic representative in the Parliament. I would like to remind MP for Jerai Datuk Badruddin Amiruldin that wheelchair users are among the people he is representing too. I do not care whether that insult was directed specifically at Karpal Singh. That very statement alone reeks of discrimination and is an insult to all wheelchair users in Malaysia and the world. MORON!

  1. Well, it depends in what context when a person is wheelchair bound. If it was on their own foolish accord like rempits for instance than serves them right. Perhaps Karpal saw it coming but to take it as a general statement against all wheel chaired people is a bit OTT.

    Peter:
I take offence that people equate being disabled as a punishment from God. I have been using a wheelchair long enough to have gone through all these nonsense from people with a holier-than-thou attitude. Whether Karpal was asking for it is besides the point. People must be educated that being disabled is one of the things that may happen to anybody whether he is a holy person or a sinner. It is part of life. Is it then all right to say that someone who has cancer is being punished by God also?

  2. i am offended too. to think our elected MP… the person (one of) who runs the country can have such mentality. MORON indeed!!

yeah i agree with peter. i totally disagree with rauf’s view too. to me god do not punish… even though how bad the person may be. if a mat rempit, through his harassing of other motorists get into an accident and loses his leg and ended up in a wheelchair, no i wouldn’t say god is punishing him. it was his own foolish act that caused him to be in the wheelchair, not that god punishes him by putting him on a wheelchair.

i don’t find anything wrong or odd in peter taking the moron’s statement as a general statement against all wheelchair users. the moron’s meaning of “you are in a wheelchair, god has punished you” did target to all wheelchair users.

this is the same moron who made the bocor remarks, right? i guess if you put a bomb in front of him, he wouldn’t ever want to apologise to karpal or all wheelchair users. *sigh*

btw, congrats, peter on your wedding to wuan. i’m so happy for you.

    Peter:
Thank you for the wishes. 😀

  3. Thia Bad-ridden man should be terminated once and for all. What has this all come to? Insulting all women about monthly leakage, and still shaking his balls in Parliament. And then now, tormenting our wheel chaired Karpal being punished by god. WHat kind of a jerk MP do we have here? Let’s hope all the wheel chaired people unite to censure him and remove him from Parliament – with a wheel chair!!

    Peter:
    Just wait and see.

  4. Well, don’t look at it as an insult. Buddhists call it Karma. The Muslims and the Christians see it as a test. So it all depends on how you view it. My brother is a PLD. I wouldn’t be offended if someone said it was God’s punishment.

    Peter:
But you are not a disabled person.

  5. You have every right to be offended, Peter. I am too. But don’t take it too heart, you have to realize that idiots are uttering it, they do not know any better. Ignorant not to mention stupid. This isn’t the first time utter stupidity flies from their mouth, these sort of people put their foot in their mouth. How could they say its god’s punishment! Isn’t it sad to see these sort of people leading our country?Being part of our parliament…..This sort of people should be charged for being insensitive, ignorant,idiotic..i could go on…Let’s pray that our future leaders will have more sense when they decide to open their mouths….

Anyway congrats on ya marriage!!! 🙂

    Peter:
    Thank you for the wishes.

  6. I must say I’m totally appalled and shocked that an MP can even spit these words out. Its absolutely discriminating and I strongly condemn this !

    Peter:
People like these make a mockery of our august Parliament and should be censured for their lack of civility.

  7. yes, he makes really stupid statements.

    Peter:
Makes one wonder what the brain is used for huh.

  8. Yet the very same buffoons wants a code of ethics to be imposed on Blogging. How about a code of ethics on them? They’re more likely to happily ape such ItaLoon Job : http://blog.andreamonti.eu/?p=49

Such is the one-way street “leadership” mindset in Bodohland.

    Peter:
Do as I say, not as I do! This is the Malaysian political circus at its best.

  9. I wrote something and I wrote it with disgust on my blog. I am sure there are reasons why that bast**d said that. Hence, I am not going to walk down that path but to say this. If god were punishing YB Karpal, can I say the same for our Tun M having to endure 3 major surgeries because god was punishing him………so lets see if I get flamed. So – bottom line, leave god out of the picture. One baffoon with one eye closed, one who calls another Bodoh Bodoh, Bodoh..what else?

    Peter:
It is always easier to blame God than to find logical reasons. “Act of God” remember?

  10. Well, Jeffrey, it seems sanctimonious goats can’t leave god out of the picture. It’s their second nature. One that is inculcated from non-thinking for if they can think, they wouldn’t be sanctimoniously so, would they? Of course such a one is expected to say that SMS’s brother accident is merely “the will of god” – that regular escape hatch that usually means little within the context. Bad theology makes thinking impossible – it’s a Catch 22 situation.

  11. We all know that the MP for Jerai is an asshole moron, there is no need to rub in that fact 🙂 That being said, however, I believe the context should be taken into account, i.e. that this rude comment was directed at Karpal, and not everyone who is wheelchair-bound in toto.

That being said again, I have no love lost for the abovesaid MP and will pray that God punishes him by making him lose his seat at Jerai.

    Peter:
As I said in the entry, “I do not care whether that insult was directed specifically at Karpal Singh. That very statement alone reeks of discrimination and is an insult to all wheelchair users in Malaysia and the world.”

  12. No Peter, it isn’t my intention to drag another person in but since this Jerai buffoon(with a record for rudeness)is so wildly judgemental as if by his god’s decreed right, it becomes interesting to know how he might attribute other human events and situation as well.
