Wa Kena Chickenpox

Chicken pox at 43 years old and just two weeks before Chinese New Year. Just my luck. Well, I guess it is better to get infected now than around or during our wedding banquet. I have been running a fever since Monday. My last temperature was 38.3C 30 minutes ago. I busted two of the blisters on my right cheek not knowing what they were initially. The lesions are not healing yet and are hurting now. The other symptoms are abdominal pain, flatulance, eyes feeling like they are on fire, a heavy head and general sense of unease.

  1. Flatulence?I bet Wuan has been very patient with you!! Chicken Pox-Hmmm- What were you doing when all our school kakis were busy passing the virus around for everyone as keepsake?Guess I’ll have to narrow down the bandwidth since I’m not getting any acar fish.

    Peter:
You really do not want to know about the flatulance. When our school kakis were busy passing the virus around, I was busy chasing girls lar. Hehe

  3. my dad has chicken pox when he was 50 😀

    Peter:
O_O. I heard it is agony to get chickenpox as an adult. Did he suffer much then?

  4. hey Pete! Wahlau, chicken pox. Well, at least not during CNY. I had it in 1994 as an adult too. Drink a lot of fresh coconut juice, it helps.

    Peter:
    Thanks for the advice.

  5. Oh dear… I do hope though that you don’t subscribe to that old folks’ tale of not bathing during this period. Get well soon!

    Peter:
I would love to bathe but I am also afraid of busting them. 🙂

  6. Aiyo, really a bad timing to have chicken pox.
Remember don’t scratch any of the blisters and drink more water too.

    Get well soon!

    Peter:
How to resist not scratching an itch?

  7. put calamine lotion to resist/reduce the itch 🙂

    Peter:
Calamine lotion does not work! I have used it for the itchy episodes and it was still as itchy as ever.
