I'm not whether it might have worked with the kitten, but usually the best thing for bad diarrhoea is rehydration salts. Sorry, it must have been upsetting.

Yes, it was.

Sad but at least it is not suffering anymore. RIP.

Peter:
The good thing was that it was a rather quick. I am consoled by the fact that kitten did not have to suffer long.

Kittens need constant care. They need to be stroked very often and fed with special milk via a dropper or small milk bottle.Do not use cow's milk. They die when they are not stroked or cared for. They need to be placed in a box with lots of cloth to imitate a mother's warmth.
We have rescued a lot of kittens and have not lost one as yet.Firstly, clean them and check for injury or parasites.Keep them warm and stroke and hold as often as you can.Leaving them with other cats can be dangerous, they are known to attack.
Feed as often as you can as they may have parasites and may be weak.Solid foods are out as their digestive system is still weak.Clear the faeces and be careful as it may contain parasites or worms that may be harmful to you.
Visit the vet when the kitty is strong enough to deworm. Its an almost 24 hour routine.A kitten who doesn't mew strongly or not at all is sick.
