Notice From Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia

Notice from Immigration Department of Malaysia
Notice from Immigration Department of Malaysia.

There was a notice for me from the Immigration Department of Malaysia. My first thought was, “Die! A letter to inform me I have been barred from travelling overseas.” I currently have an outstanding matter with a government agency that has not been resolved yet. One of the penalties was disallowing me from going out of the country. I was half expecting something like that coming in the mail for me.

However, I was pleasantly surprised that it was a notice informing me that my passport is expiring in December. Those intending to travel overseas must have passports with a validity of more than six months. The notice advised me to have the passport renewed for this purpose. This reminder is a nice touch from the Immigration Department, especially for people who do not use their passports often and are not aware of the six month validity condition.
