Kota Kinabalu Trip And Bloggers Meet
Monday, October 22nd, 2007Wuan and I will be going to Kota Kinabalu for a few days beginning this weekend. We thought we can hit many birds with one stone. We have never been to Sabah and Sarawak before. Wuan’s sister Rosalynn and her family is currently based there and I have not seen her for a while already. This is going to be a part-holiday part-working trip as I will be conducting some accessibility studies for a project that I am working on.
I have read, seen and heard so much about these two states on the other side of the South China Sea – their people, culture, cuisine, flora and fauna. I want to see with my own eyes and experience the vibrant communities that make up part of the Borneo island. I want to smell the salty sea breeze, the fresh rainforest air and see the majestic peak of Mount Kinabalu. I am sure we are going to have an exciting time there.
Moreover, Dee is organising a bloggers meet to coincide with our trip. It has been a while since I last attended any. I am really looking forward to this especially in a land I have never been to before. All are welcome including blog readers. Details of the meet are as follows:
Kota Kinabalu Bloggers Meet
Date: October 28, 2007 (Sunday)
Time: 8.30pm
Venue: Shamrock Irish Pub, Waterfront.

MAS, AirAsia To Be Asked To Waive Special Aids Fee
KUALA LUMPUR, July 16 (Bernama) — Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and Air Asia are to be asked to do away with the fee imposed for the use of special aids such as wheelchairs by physically challenged people.
A fee of RM12 is imposed currently for the use of a wheelchair, Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Azlan Sultan Abu Bakar said when winding up debate on the Carriage By Air (Amendment) Bill 2007 in the Dewan Negara today.
Several senators had brought up the matter, saying it was unfair to impose the fee.
The bill was approved. The senate also passed the Malaysian Qualifications Agency Bill 2007.
The Dewan Negara will sit again tomorrow.
