Revenge is sweet, so they say. Opportunity dropped on my lap like heaven-sent yesterday evening. For all the times that she made fun of me in her blog, I have been looking forward to a day like this to exact my revenge here. Somehow, I do not have the heart to do this, not today anyway. Another time perhaps. After all, it is her special day and it should be all nice things about her.
For starters, she has been a great friend even though we have known each other for less than six months. Every once in a while, she would IM me with a one word message like “bleh.” She does this because she cares. I was touched by those simple gestures. I still am. She has a heart of gold. Her effort in Blogathon 2005 is ample proof. She is funny and cuddly. On icy nights, you would appreciate her company. She warms up the room not only with her humor, if you know what I mean. With all these virtues, it makes one wonder why she is still single. There is something very sinister here. Anyway, that is not the topic for today.
There was a surprise party for her yesterday at T-Club in Bangsar last night. MataKecik had informed me earlier of the party and arranged with Delia to fetch Wuan and me. The conspiring bloggers were ShaolinTiger, Kimberly, KY, FireAngel, Matakecik, Eyeris, Terrence, Wuan and myself. Some of her other friends were there too. I hope she was surprised but she looked lost initially. One beer too many perhaps. That was only the beginning. After being force-fed with cocktails with names like Graveyard and Kamikaze, her once vast vocabulary was limited to one unmentionable four-letter word followed by a three-letter word and two middle fingers perpetually extended like a lethal weapon. Still, we love her very much.
My dear friend, I hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we enjoyed your esteemed company last night. Wuan and I apologise for not being able to say our farewell to you before we left with Eyeris who had graciously offered us ride home. You were out cold on the sofa snoozing like a little piglet. So on this special day of yours let me wish you this: HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUANIE!!! May you be wiser and may all your dreams come true, including the one about getting a date and a boyfriend.
