Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff

February 5th, 2010 - Friday

Sometimes, when my mood is down, issues that have gone unresolved beyond tolerable time frames tend to get blown out of proportion. I will become all flustered and my entire day is spoilt. Today is one of those days until I took a step back to put them in perspective. They are just small issues that have been left hanging through no fault of mine. These are not life or death issues. They are annoying nonetheless but nothing is disrupted. There are bigger issues in life that I should be concerned with. Note to self: Keep emotions in check. Do not sweat the small stuff. Time should be better spent on fulfilling and productive endeavours.

This Early Bird Caught No Worm

February 3rd, 2010 - Wednesday

I fought with myself today and lethargy won. This must be that time of the year when my brain goes on strike. Afternoons are blistering hot, and then heaven pours as the sun begins to set. I woke up early and thought I could get some work done. I should have gone back to bed after emptying my bladder.

Nothing was accomplished and the extra hours in the wheelchair today has caused my feet to puff up like buns. This condition is called postural oedema – fluid retention in the subcutaneous tissues of the feet and ankles from sitting all day long. A little more time on my back should get rid of the swelling. Tomorrow, I am going to leave the worm to the bird.

The Digital Awakening Turns Seven

February 2nd, 2010 - Tuesday

This blog turned seven on January 28 and it totally slipped my mind until two days later. I was busy with something else then and it is only today that I have some time to note this occasion. It never occured to me in 2003 that I would still be doing this today. I am glad that I discovered blogging. I was drifting aimlessly looking for a purpose in life. It was through blogging, or rather putting my thoughts in writing here, that I could piece together a map of what I would want to do with my life. So here I am, putting colours to the pictures as I live them out one by one. Most of them are chronicled in this blog, too. It has been seven fruitful years. Perhaps, now is a good time to piece together another picture to carry me through the next seven years. The old picture is almost fully coloured already.
