A Post Dedicated To GK Lim

October 30th, 2008 - Thursday

Spam mail from GK Lim

On October 21, I put up an entry titled “Idiots Who Spam My Mailbox Everyday.” GK Lim whose name was among the offending mails wrote to say that he has asked his marketing people to stop non-opt-in mailings. I thought that was the end of those annoying mails from him. Look what greeted me when I retrieved my emails just now. Another non-opt-in email from GK Lim. Non-opt-in mailing is a term used in place of spam mails or unsolicited bulk emails to make it sound more palatable. Shit still smells like shit no matter what you call it.

Idiots Who Spam My Mailbox Everyday

October 21st, 2008 - Tuesday

My TMNet email account is still active although I have stopped using it to send out emails. Lately, I have been receiving spam mails from local companies providing training services of all sorts sent to my TMNet account in addition to the primary email under my domain name. These spam mails are from Malaysian Export Academy, Asia Pacific Media & Publications Sdn. Bhd., The Sales Ninja Group, KCOM Learning Centre and Telemarketing Services. Some even include the names of trainers such as G K Lim, Shahrukh Moghal, Marilyn Atkinson, Andrew A.L. Tan, Elaine Quah, Sasidharan Muniandy and Arthur Camazzi.

I do not give a rat’s ass if you people are renowned trainers or otherwise. Your names are forever etched in my mind as being pesky people. Seeing how I can be moved to dedicate an entry to you all for annoying the hell out me, I believe you people can be very successful in providing training on how to annoy and lose customers at the blink of an eye. Here is your 30 seconds of fame. I hope you all enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed deleting the emails every damn day.

Update:
10.54pm, October 27, 2008
I just received an email from G K Lim, one of the names mentioned above. Below is a paragraph from his email that is relevant to this post:

Since September 2007, after a Google service alerted me to complains against my promoters, I have stopped them from non-opt-in mailings.  In my business there is a division of labor — there are people who promote / market  / sell training programs.  There are people who deliver the training programs. I belong to the second group; I deliver the training.  My promoters go out and sell my programs. I have asked my promoters to stop non-opt-in mailings.
