MyKad

After more than three futile months of waiting for the card from the Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara Malaysia to inform me that my identity card is ready, I checked its status online at Sistem Semakan Status Permohonan MyKad. I was at Wuan’s place at that time. It showed that my identity card was ready for collection. Today, after Peter had dropped Wuan off for her journey back, he took me to the Sungai Ara office to collect it.

  1. It’s normal to have to wait for three months to get your new IC. I had to wait that long too. Why it has to be three months is beyond me, though. That’s Malaysian efficiency for you!

  2. I thought they wouldn’t allow guys to take photo with long hair? Perhaps not all centers are so idiotic as to try to impose their own “moral” and standard hairstyle that we should wear

  3. Oon,
According to the online status, my IC was ready since early last month but I have never received the card informing me to collect it. Lucky I could check online.

    KY,
Who are they to say only women are allowed to keep long hair and not men? As far as I know, coloured hair is disallowed.

  4. BawangMerah,
Try to get there early. It is free now until the end of the year.

    Wingz,
    I look so rascally meh?

  5. Thanks for the link Peter. Now I can check online on the status of my new IC.
