Test Driving The Civic

Honda Civic

The Honda Civic is a mean-looking piece of art. Indeed, it is poetry in motion with its sleek streamlined profile. Being in the driver’s seat gave me another reason why I must get my driving license soon. The feeling of being in control was simply overwhelming. And I do look good in one.

Honda Civic

If only I could afford the figures printed on its price tag. The sum to my mobility adds up to a handsome amount. The price of an ultra lightweight wheelchair must be factored in. One that I can easily assemble and disassemble and put in the car costs US$2,000 upwards. This is an amount I can ill afford at the moment. It is a nice dream though.

  1. Suits you!

Out of interest how much does it cost to convert the car so you can drive it? I guess that’s an additional cost on top of the lightweight chair?

    Peter:
Does not suit what I have in my bank account though. A locally available hand-control kit costs RM2,800 which has two controls and needs some finger play. I prefer one from USA where one stick controls the accelerator and brake. It is an attachment and very little of the original chassis is touched. After the kit is attached, it needs to be certified by Puspakom/JPJ. Yeah, the cost of that should have been factored in too. *faints*

  2. Hey Peter, seriously you look good in a Honda Civic. But then, if cost is a factor, why not consider a relatively cheaper Honda City or Toyota Vios with the hand controls? But seriously, you should get your car/licence. Driving is one of the best feelings in the world.

Then one day, we can race. 😉

    Peter:
I was considering a Nissan Sentra but I had difficulty getting into it. I am not too fond of Toyota Vios because of the position of its meter cluster. Truth be told Honda City is a real ugly car but the interior was surprisingly nice and I had a good feeling sitting inside one. I reasoned to Wuan that I would rather drive an ugly car with a nice interior than a nice car with and ugly interior. I am going to get my license as soon as I get a car with a hand control kit. I do not think I can fit into the driving school’s Kancil. My legs are too long. Race? Downhill or uphill first?

  3. one must first dream, for dreams to come true 🙂

    Peter:
Good advice. But over the years, I have been paring my dreams down to a car that I can afford from one that would remain just a dream.

  4. Woohoo! Let’s see a drift!

    Peter:
The only time you will see me doing a drift is when I drive into a river.

  5. Walao, so “yau ying” la! Jealous-nya, kekeke. Honda City is convenient, no doubt abt it. Thanx for the suggestion. I think you will definitely get ur license before i do, so i get to be chauffered around first, haha. GAMBATE!! 😉

    Peter:
If you get first, you drive me around, ok?

  6. Waiting for the day you will give us a ride to Peppino, right RB, SB?

    Peter:
No problem. To Teluk Bahang also can.

  7. Look Sooooooooooooo handsome!

    Peter:
Next time we meet I belanja you kopi. 🙂

  8. Fuiyoh Pete, you certainly look good with that Honda. Somemore wearing that black sweater & glove. One word – sexy! 😉

    Peter:
I think I will look even better in a BMW or an Audi.

  9. hey there handsome, told ya the gloves look nice… haha. better work hard and get your license soon, so then you can come drive me from campus and we go yamcha! hehe. i got my license, but truth be told… i’ve totally forgotten how to drive 😛

    Peter:
Then your college mates will think I am your uncle but yumcha no problem. When I get my license and car, you will be the first.

  10. but everyone knows that the professor X only travels in either the Mazda RX-8 or the SR-71 blackbird, no? 😛

    Peter:
I can only dream about those.
