Love Songs

The main content of this entry was written in October 27, 2000. It was part of the homepage that I created and dedicated to Wuan. As I reminisce about those wonderful years, I am reminded of how much we have journeyed together. She has seen me fall many times. Again and again she gently helped me up and egged me forward. There is no other person that I want to continue this journey with.

Love songs are food for the soul. They bring out the extreme of emotions in us – from sadness to happiness, from tears to laughters.

Love songs are the chronicles of our love lives, from our first infatuation to the time we first whisper “I love you”, and on to our first breakup. For many, the cycle begins again.

At times when I felt sad and lonely, these beautiful love songs kept me company. They are faithful companions, singing out my heart’s sorrows. Somehow, listening to these soft lulling tunes always lift my spirits.

Since meeting Wuan, I found these songs even more meaningful. We share similar affections for these beautiful love songs, which are like twinkling stars in a cold dark night.

These are songs with lyrics that have brought us closer each time we cuddled and let its soft soothing melodies lullaby us into a world of our own.

Love is all around us, if only we know how to open our hearts and let it fill our souls, and Wuan has done just that. She taught me what love is all over again, and more.

Wuan, thanks for all the loving.

  1. Oh my.. This is so so sweet πŸ™‚

    Peter:
Wuan deserves more than I can ever give her. This is one of the little things that I can do.

  3. Hello Peter, came upon your blog when i was searching for Kurma Chicken recipe and had yours bookmark. To cut a long story short, three things that had me bookmark your blog, (1)penang, (2)Kuala Lumpur (3)your fighting spirit, loniless and pain… I have been down that road before, and depression, never ever let that gets hold of you, think of God, those that love you and all the beautiful things in life… I would like to share the lyrics to a song by Jim Photoglo(you might not have heard of him), he wrote a beautiful love song in the eighties, when I played it on the night, I was married and shared the intimate moments with my wife, and we were young and that was 24 years ago, young like you…

I dedicate this song to you and Wuan:

My love, she makes no demands
She waits for me with open hands
    She understands
My love she gives me all I need
    She understands in me
    And when I am down
She cries her tears for me

    ‘cuase she loves me
I don’t know what she sees in me
    she love me
I follow where she leads me
She makes me the best that I can be

She loves September by the sea
    candlelight and cold chablis
Those little thing never menat that much to me….she loves me..

    I was a lonely man
    I never understood
I never realized that it could be so good

    Until she loved me
I don’t know what she see in me
    She loves me
I follow where she leads ‘cuase
She makes me the best that I can be
(Jim Photoglo “The Best that I can be[she loves me]”)

I had just came out of a depression then, I was young like you now, and God and my love helped me to hang on. Next year, I will be celebrating my 25 years of marriage, and that one night and that song…

‘she loves me..I don’t know what she sees in me, she loves me”…….

    Peter:
Very touching. Thanks for sharing. I have asked those question many times but there are no exact answers when it comes to love.
