The AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G prime lens is still not available in Malaysia yet. However, Nikon enthusiasts in the USA have already gotten their hands on this lens and are actively discussing about it in the Digital Photography Review forum. I know Wuan will love this lens as she prefers to shoot in natural lighting instead of using the flash in low-light situations. She will also love the bokeh that this wide-aperture lens can produce especially when she is shooting her favourite subject – flowers.

I am waiting anxiously for the AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G to reach Malaysian shores which is expected to be sometime next year. This is the only 50mm Nikkor lens from that can autofocus with the Nikon D60. The AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D or AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D has to be focused manually when attached to the D40 and D60 because the body of these two cameras do not have built-in focus motor. The AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G on the other hand incorporates the Silent Wave Motor (SWM) into the lens body and is built for such cameras.
