The Star reported that Seputeh MP Teresa Kok and Sin Chew Daily journalist Tan Hoon Cheng were detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) Friday evening following the arrest of Malaysia Today blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin under the same law earlier in the day. The banner and background for this blog will go black in protest of the arrests.

Anwar Ibrahim has won the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat with a whooping 15,671 majority. His entry into the parliament is accomplished. Next stop Putrajaya – the prime ministership of Malaysia. While politicians from both sides of the political divide are going for each other’s jugular, the rakyat are suffering silently and at the same time desperately trying to make ends meet as price of essential items keep soaring. It makes one wonder whether these politicians have the interests and welfare of the people in mind.
