The Eternal Cycle Of Misery

Many live once and die. Some live and die, and reincarnate many times in one lifetime. These life and death cycles shape our behavior in subsequent incarnations. Some do not. To make a mistake once is forgivable. Everybody makes mistakes. To repeat the same mistake again and again is akin to condemning oneself to the eternal cycle of misery.

In a moment of lunacy, or wisdom, I wrote this, I think. It was in an archived folder from 2003 that I have transferred from one hard disk drive to another over the years as I changed computers.

Seventeen Years Too Late

Another chapter in my life has come to a close. This matter was left outstanding for the past seventeen years. It could have been resolved speedily had the parties concerned desired to. This is also the last of my mother’s unfinished business that I had vowed to see to completion. It is unfortunate that she could not see the resolution in her lifetime. I am glad this is all over now. My father can finally rest in peace, too. May God bless you both wherever you are.

Massive Earthquake And Tsunami In Japan

All major news networks are flashing the 8.9 magnitude earthquake that struck at 2.46 pm local time in the northeastern coast of Japan. The quake triggered a 10-meter tsunami. As I watched the footage of boats and cars being swept away, I thought about my friends and their family in Tokyo and other areas that were hit by the earthquake and then the tsunami.

Just yesterday, I was asking my good friend Hata about the 7.2 earthquake that struck on Wednesday. According to him, there was no damage in Tokyo as they were a distance away from the epicenter. I hope that they are safe this time too and remain safe in the aftermath. My prayers go out to them, especially at the Human Care Association, Centre for Independent Living Hino and Machida Human Network.
