When I woke up this morning, I had already lost my voice. It sounded different even when I coughed. All I can manage now are intelligible croaks and grunts. Fortunately, I breezed through the sore throat part of the infection. Swallowing would have been a torture if that had prolonged. Hopefully, I will get my voice back in the next few days.

  1. Dear Peter,

I just read your blog and admire your mental strength. I’m sorry to hear that your kidneys are failing and I wish that there was something that modern medical technology could do for you. I recently started my own blog (stemlife1.blogspot.com) which focuses on stem cell technology (my area of interest) and have written some entries on the treatment of spinal cord injury and other neurodegenerative conditions which have been attempted with stem cells of various sources. Now, I’ll keep a special lookout for kidney failure. Although there have been reports on stem cell therapy for kidney disease, I don’t think it applies to your condition thus far. If I find anything, I’ll be sure to send you a copy.

    Best regards,

    Peter:
Thanks. Have been doing exactly that. 🙂

  3. akakaka, you are not alone. been having cough, sore throat, fever, cough, sore throat, fever, cough, sore throat (ulcer) in that order since 1st May. been avoiding confrontation with another known weakling bcos of this. gimme a sms when u r well. but I think my voice is better than usual with a tinge of hoarseness ala Rod Steward.

    Peter:
You better do something about that chronic cough. I am well, just that I have lost my voice. Early dinner tomorrow?
