Blackout at Suria KLCC

There was a blackout at Suria KLCC at 7:15 pm just now. Wuan and I were shopping at Isetan. The lights suddenly went off. All was in darkness. We managed to find out way out. The corridors outside were lit though. The elevators were not operational. We were stuck at Level 1 for a while. There was no way for me to get the the Ground Level. Power was fully restored by 8:00 pm. By then, many shops had already locked their doors because of the power failure.

  1. wahhhhhh peter, u was there until so late arh?

Anyway, hope you really enjoy the visit!

  2. Wah..
this is not a good sign.

I have been in Germany for more than a year and I have not experience any black out in here yet.

I think TNB should provide better service to the country.

  3. Can anyone tell me why the pictures on your site don’t display on my browser (IE 6.xxx)?
    Thanks.

  4. Reta,
It was scary for a moment when all was in total darkness. I told Wuan to hold on tight to her bag.

    Julee,
    This is not good news.

    suanie,
She has a good eye indeed. How about posing for more shots tonight?

    LcF,
I do not know what happened. I hope they will rectify this soon.

    dannyFoo,
    Fortunately, everyone was calm.

    SK,
We went back at around 10pm. I had wanted to call you but I thought you could be busy. Thanks for getting the tickets for us. Will put the entry and photos up soon.

    iblogme,
Err… not immediate. I only blogged about this after I got back, which was four hours after the incident.

    Life Feel,
It might not be TNB’s fault. I am not sure what happened.

    bishopnose,
I am not sure why. I use Opera mostly. It displays all right. IE too. Someone out there have a solution?

    Halian,
I do not think TNB will disconnect the power at that hour.

    james,
Too bad we did not meet.

  5. Peter, so it was all in total pitch darkness?
I wasn’t there, but my friend Riki was near the incident, thus his report on my blog =)

Thanks for linking it. I merely chucked the report in and wrote the pictures’ captions and title lol

    See you tonight!

  6. Kuan Thing,
Isetan had a sale that day. There were frequent announcements to warn of pickpockets. I guess the blackout exacerbated that.
