Wuan and I will be going to Kota Kinabalu for a few days beginning this weekend. We thought we can hit many birds with one stone. We have never been to Sabah and Sarawak before. Wuan’s sister Rosalynn and her family is currently based there and I have not seen her for a while already. This is going to be a part-holiday part-working trip as I will be conducting some accessibility studies for a project that I am working on.
I have read, seen and heard so much about these two states on the other side of the South China Sea β their people, culture, cuisine, flora and fauna. I want to see with my own eyes and experience the vibrant communities that make up part of the Borneo island. I want to smell the salty sea breeze, the fresh rainforest air and see the majestic peak of Mount Kinabalu. I am sure we are going to have an exciting time there.
Moreover, Dee is organising a bloggers meet to coincide with our trip. It has been a while since I last attended any. I am really looking forward to this especially in a land I have never been to before. All are welcome including blog readers. Details of the meet are as follows:

Hi Pete, I think I’ll be meeting you at The Shamrock. See you soon.
Peter:
See you there!
Would love to join you guys, but unfortunately, will be driving back to KK from Brunei on that day itself, so not sure what time I’ll be arriving KK. If I can still make it, I’ll meet you guys there k? π
Peter:
Keeping my fingers crossed.
Hi Peter! I will be there that day! π
Peter:
That is great! See you soon.
It is nice to know your trip to kk as we’re not disable friendly compared to KL. Would like to suggest that you go and visit University Malaysia Sabah (UMS). I don’t think they accept any disable student at the moment but it would be nice if they do because in my time in Malaya University, most some of the special disable student came from Sabah and the reason they have to travel to KL because it is the only place that have provided the facilities to them. Most of them don’t even went home for more than 10 years because of traveling difficulties and expenses. I might be going to the gathering in KK and would like to listen to your experiences and story after reading some of it on your blog on and off for few years. ^_^
Peter:
It will be a pleasure to share with you about disability issues.See you on Sunday.
Sir, what is your program on that night?
Peter:
This is a casual meet. We usually play it by ear.
It’s nice for you to come down and having this meeting with us. However, I just cannot come because it is the day my twins baptism day. So sorry. Next time then. Shamrock… oh yes.. fond memory there. Don’t forget to take picture with the pool table π
Peter:
The next time then…
i’ll try to be there too. there’s a drift event happening at day time, hope i’m not too tired.
Peter:
Hope to see you there. π
Been wanting to meet you, should the opportunity arise, for a very long time. But I can’t this time. π Enjoy our fair city.
Peter:
Maybe in KL when you are in the city?
have a great time in sabah. it is my favourite state.
Peter:
Thank you. Will do and will come back with lots of photos.
if i managed to come back to kk that night, ill definitely be there for you bro.. π
Peter:
Hope to see you then.
